Term 2, Week 2
This weeks class awards go to ........................
Friday 8th May, 2020
Hey guys
I can't believe it is the end of week two already! I hope you have all watched the assembly and the teacher's celebration dance as well. Thank you to our house captains for doing an amazing job hosting the assembly! I will be posting a link today for a Mothers Day Video that we have made at school. Hopefully you will get a chance to show your mum or someone special on Sunday. During the meeting today I will be asking you: 1)If you have been updating your Premier's Reading Challenge regularly (score from 1 to 10 with 10 being yes, for sure, all the time, every single book!) 2) What are you proud of achieving this week? I will also be handing out class awards (they haven't been happening the last few weeks, it was just me being slack!), playing a Kahoot (positive and negative numbers) and answering today's riddle. Have a great morning and I will see you soon! Mrs Dunne |
Riddle of the Day
- Take one out and scratch my head, I am now black but once was red.
- Remove the outside, cook the inside, eat the outside, throw away the inside.

Good morning
Important Note: Students at school today will need to log into zoom on their own laptop for our morning meeting. I hope you have had a great week so far. I have started to read through the stories and they have been brilliant so far. There seems to be a common problem though. People are struggling to keep within the 500 word limit! I will comment on them today and see if I can suggest ways to reduce the limit. If you want to enter the Mayor's writing competition you need to let me know by completing the Google Form in today's literacy lesson and TURN IN your writing before tomorrow. If you have already written your story and it is too long AND you can't reduce it, you can always write a new story to enter. In today's meeting I will be asking you: 1) what aspect of this new learning model to do you think we should keep after everyone is back at school? 2) to rate yourself between 1 and 10 (one = not even started to 10 = have done it every day) in regards to working on your gratitude journal. We will also be playing a sport based Kahoot and solve the puzzle. A reminder about assembly today; I will post the link in Google Classroom after it has been uploaded. Have a great day and I will see you soon. |

Good Morning
I hope you had a great day yesterday. I am enjoying reading your Mayor's writing challenge pieces and seeing people's gratitude posts. I am thinking of putting some of the gratitude slides in the school newsletter. Let me know if you don't want yours included. In this morning's meeting we will go through the plan for the day, and ask you two questions: 1) what book, movie or tv show would you recommend to others (make sure it is suitable)? 2) what activity are you looking forward to doing once the restrictions are reduced? We will also be playing a Kahoot based on the yesterday's BTN Report Episode 11 and answering in the riddle for today. Don't forget to check your work, turn anything need in and mark it off on the checklist which is in your shared with me folder on Google Drive. See you soon Mrs Dunne |
Riddle of the Day
- What can you catch but not throw?
- I run, yet I have no legs. What am I?

Hello everyone
I hope you had a great day yesterday and got a chance to get outside to enjoy the sunshine! I have contacted most parents yesterday afternoon to let them know what day you have been rostered on in regards to your return to school one day from next week. When you come to school next week you will also be able to collect your year 6 shirts! If I already know that you will be at school each day and I did not call your parents to let them know as you will already be at school. During today's meeting I will be asking you; 1) To let me know if you have already made a Mother's Day Card and 2) One thing you love about your mum/grandma/aunt/sister/cousin/friend etc We will also be playing a Kahoot on 'Non Fiction Text Features'. Don't forget to have a go at today's puzzle. Make sure you don't put the answer in until the end of the meeting. Don't forget to mark of your work using the checklist and ask any questions through email, drop in Zoom meetings and Google Classroom. See you soon, Mrs Dunne |

Good morning guys
I hope you have had an amazing, relaxed weekend and are ready to start the week. This week we will be continuing with our timetable the same as last week and as I said last week I am super impressed by your maturity and responsibility in regards to managing your work. You have been legends and I really appreciate it. Don't forget to keep asking questions when they come up particularly if you can't find something or something doesn't make sense. If it isn't making sense to you that means it is probably not making sense to someone else as well. Next week we will have everyone back at school for one day a week. At the moment we are just confirming the days people will be rostered on. I will let you know as soon as I can. In the meeting today I will be asking you: 1) What was one physical activity you did last week? 2) What is something you know about yourself know that you didn't at the start of the year? 3) What are you looking forward to this week? (If you can't think of something you are not trying hard enough) We will also be doing a Kahoot based on 'Times Tables' and answering today's 2 riddles. |
Riddle of the day
- What goes up and down stairs without moving?
- Give it food and it will live; give it water and it will die.
